Rhinestone Cowboy, Nudie Cohn pictures + New western cowboy boot tips in store.

27 Jul

We’ve come across some more vintage boot tips for cowboy boots (we had these in store a little while ago!) They are now available at the garage for $20 each… they feature gold details on silver caps such as cowboys, horses and horse shoes and steer skulls.

Sorting through the boot tips got us in a western kinda mood and we got to thinking about great western wear, and the fantastic suits created by Nudie Cohn… The embroiderys and motifs created by Nudie on his famous suits are a huge inspiration to us here at Route 66, we thought we would share some of our favorite pics of Nudie suits with you all…

Nudie himself,  strutted around town in his own outrageous suits and rhinestone-studded cowboy hats.
His sartorial trademark was mismatched boots, which he wore, he said, to remember his humble beginnings in the 1930s when he could not afford a matching pair of shoes.

In 2006, Porter Wagoner said he had accumulated 52 Nudie Suits, costing between $11,000 and $18,000 each.

Nudie and Gram Parsons, Gram wears the infamous suit for the cover of the Flying Burrito Brothers 1969 album The Gilded Palace.
